Recently, we admitted five small girls from a poor family in Delhi slums. Their parents do
not have a fixed source of income and they could not afford to send their girls to school.
The girls are bright and intelligent but because of their family situation, they never saw a
classroom in school. Their brothers were previously admitted in our Gurukul, and their
parents requested us to accept their daughters as well. Sometimes, if such innocent girls
are not given appropriate shelter in educational institutes, then their parents may do
something very wrong with them. Keeping this danger in mind, we decided to accommodate the
girls in our school, although we never admitted girl child before.
